Cargo is one of Londons best known clubs, renowed for it’s DJ’s,cult following and Electro music. Every Friday night, entry to Cargo is free!

Situated on Rivington Street in trendy Shoreditch, Cargo cannot be missed, usually due to the massive queue that has formed outside, so it is advisable to get there early (about 9 ish) if you don’t want to queue for a while. However you can always drink while you’re waiting in line.

Cargo is a good size club, the bar is easy to get to and is not over priced as most clubs in London are. There is a great outdoor seating area complete with a Fussball table. Inside the dancefloor is pumping, and with some of the UK’s top Electro DJ’s playing it is never empty.

Shake Rattle and Bowl is a club night with a difference. It’s held at the Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes beneath the Tavistock Hotel. It is London’s most unique retro clubnight, with dancing, bowling, cinema, diner and karaoke!

The night is not super cheap but it is different from the norm and lots and lots of fun, the music encompasses 50’s and 60’s Rock n Roll, Soul, Motown, Girl Groups, Freakbeat, Psychedelia and Ska and the venue has 50’s retro themed bowling lanes, a nice big dancefloor and stage, a diner that serves delicious 50’s themed food (the giant pizzas are amazing!), karaoke booths, table football, pool, arcade games (duck hunt) and even a free cinema.

Many of the people attending dress up in 50’s clothing for the night and really get into the swing of things.

Shake Rattle and Bowl is held on the first Saturday of every month from 7pm – 3am

Entry to Shake, Rattle & Bowl is £7 on the door (free before 7), £5 for members or NUS. However, if you are going in a large group you should contact them for a concessionary party guestlist.

The Roxy Bar and Screen on Borough High Street provides free screenings of classic movies, Kung Fu flicks as well as recent films. The screenings take place from Sunday to Wednesday. The venue is great and relaxed, what can be better than watching a great film and having a drink at the same time.

The screenings are for over 18’s only and if there are double/triple bills or the film is very recent then there is a possible £3 cover charge but this is well worth it.
