South west London will be playing host to the Putney Music Festival. The festival will be in its 12th year and will take place from 27 to 29 March 2009 coinciding with the Oxford and Cambridge Boat race that will start at Putney bridge.

A french food market and hog roast will accompany the 3 days of festivities and about 20 venues will have live music all day and night.

Seeing the live music at the venues will be free though some may charge later on in the evening

The world famous Oxford and Cambridge boat race is a world famous sporting event which was first held in 1829.
The course is 4ΒΌ mile along the Thames from Putney to Mortlake will be held on Sunday 29 march.

It is of course free to spectate this event!
